Rural Patrols/Farms/Livestock/Equine

Good afternoon,

I've spent a lot of time today visiting rural areas on patch, engaging with Farmers, Shepherds, Horse riders/owners and other rural communities.

I would like to create a contact list for those with Livestock or Horses in the area. This would enable us, the local Police team, to contact the owner of cattle/sheep/horses etc quickly if they are ever found loose on the road, and will help to minimise the impact to road users and the community. It will also allow us to warn the relevant people of any rural crime types should they start to occur, rather than following the trail after it has happened. This could include things such as tack theft, rustling or GPS/machinery theft.

If you own livestock or horses and would like to be involved in this, please could you reply to this message with the following information -

Name & Address

Phone number & email address

Approximate Location of your animals (a post code or what three words would be very helpful if possible)

Brief details of your livestock/horses (Approximate number, breeds)

This information will be treated as Sensitive, and will not be disclosed outside of the Police. I will try to visit more farms and rural areas over the coming weeks and months, but due to demand in the town this may take some time.

Many thanks,

PC Jack Combellack
